Lots to Do! But it's a good thing.

Lately I have been adding more and more to my to do list. I have taken on more and more and quiet frankly I'm loving it. I love being busy and doing stuff that makes me happy. Scrapping makes me super happy and just working with any kind of design is a lot of fun for me even if it's a challenge. This year like I mentioned in earlier blogs I've taken on the role of assistant yearbook cordinator at my daughter's elementary school. I started the year thinking I'd just see how I liked working on the yearbook, and really just found my passion and what I want to do as a PTA mom/volunteer. So next year I will be the head cordinator. I'm excited and a little scared, but I know I can do this. Aside from yearbook stuff I've also managed to juggle life and my scrapping. I have recently been making a lot of freebies for Scrapping Artistry's blog and also some from Forever Sisters Scraps. I enjoy this part of scrapping, because lets face it we all get bored from time to time with our stuff. It's fun making things for others to use. To add to this on Sunday during the Superbowl halftime I hosted a speed scrap for Missy's Bits and it was a blast. So next week I've teamed up with Robyn Pali from Forever Sisters Scraps and have scheduled a Facebook Speed Scrap on her page that I will be hosting. I'm looking forward to it. So please come join us.

Tuesday, Tuesday...Boring Day Tuesday

After last week's deadlines to get 40 of our 80 pages submitted for my daughter's school yearbook, I have been lazy yesterday and today. I got a little more caught up with some of the scrapping I put off last week.

If you haven't seen it Robyn Pali's got a great new Valentine's themed kit out called "Forever & Always", it is onsale right now for $1.

I also made a freebie Facebook Timeline Banner using this kit that Robyn is offering for free if you "like" her Facebook page and click on her exclusive tab. Go to Robyn Pali Designs right now and "like" her page.

Weekend in the Country

This past weekend we took the girls and went on a weekend get away in the country at my sister-in-law's company's hunting ranch. It was a great weekend and the girls enjoyed their time playing with their cousins and being spoilled by their aunt and grandparents. We enjoyed our time there to. Keith got to go hunting Saturday morning and I went to sit in the stand with him that evening. My first time to ever sit in a deer stand and boy was it boring...lol! We didn't see any deer even after the feeder went off. We saw a few deer on the way back to the house, but no luck getting one this time.

Today we had lot of rain here in Houston, thankfully are part of town wasn't too bad. I have officially lost my umbrellas and I prayed we would make it to school and back without getting wet. Thankfully, both times for drop of and pick up we didn't get too wet.

Long, long day!

Today was Allison's first day back to school after the Christmas Break. I expected the day to start out rough and it did. For some reason, I guess from excitement, Allison woke up at 3:45 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. She tried then came back and crawled in bed with us at 5 a.m. I got very little sleep. She was in a great mood though and was ready for school by 6 a.m. so I curled back up in bed for another hour while she watched cartoons. After she went to school Maycie and I went back to my bed to relax and stay warm since it was a cold morning. When we got up we went to pick up my mom for her doctor's appointment. It was a nice visit with my mom today. Allison got home from school and went to the dollar store with my mom. I managed to sweep and mop the floors today and tidy up Allison's room and move some furniture from Maycie's room to Allison's room. All and all today was a pretty productive day. Oh we managed a trip to Wal-mart too.

Last Day of Christmas Break

Today was Allison's last day off for Christmas Break. We've had a great 2 weeks. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning and getting up early to get her ready for school. Keith has also been off almost the entire time and goes back tomorrow as well. Today I treated Allison out and kept to my promise of taking her to see Alvin and The Chipmunks:Chipwrecked. We had such a great time on our little date. The movie was probably the best one they've made so far. So funny! I'm sure gonna to miss her company this week as we adjust to live with her back in school. It will be much quieter for sure. At least I have Maycie to keep me company during the day.

Here are some pictures from our day.

Happy New Year!!

I have been such a bad blogger. This year I am going to make a resolution to "try" harder to post at least once or twice a week. I'd like to do this mainly to recap my week so that when I go to scrap those all important moments in life I can have something to go back to and remember everything for the date. I've been working so hard with my 6 year old daughter to write in her journal for her first grade class and while helping her I've realized I really need to work on a journal for myself since most of my scrapbook layouts 'lack' journaling. So here we go.

Today: January 1, 2011....
Today started out with snuggle time with my Maycie bug. I love these mornings and her snuggling close to me after she wakes up and we lay back down in my bed for awhile. Allison woke up excited this morning telling me all about her night after she went to bed and her opening her window blinds so she could lay in bed and watch all the fireworks going off outside on New Years Eve. She described every color she saw and then decided to draw a picture of them and write in her 1st grade journal. After breakfast we went outside to let  Allison ride her bike. Maycie tried riding her tricylce too. It was a beautiful day. After riding her bike we went to Keith's parents house and ate lunch. A little ham, black-eyed peas, & cabbage for our New Year. Keith and I then took Maycie to have her stitches out. Maycie didn't let the nurses hold her down, she had to be restrained...lol. It really only took a few minutes, but being so young and after the trama of having the stitches put in the other night I think she just wanted nothing to do with the ER. After that we came home for awhile and let Maycie nap. Allison made a pot holder with her new weaving kit and Keith finished taking the tree down. When Maycie woke up we took the girls to the park and out to eat at Little Mexico (Allison's favorite). Today was a great day, minus Allison's hour or so of whining about everything, I think she was just really tired this afternoon.
